"
Diversity is nothing new, but multiculturalism is. Over the years I
have come to understand how problematic it is talk about inclusiveness,
human rights or civility without examining how one has been socialized
to view the " other". Assumptions and mis-education about race,
ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and class continues to shape our
individual and collective biases including behaviors and free will, the
choices we make both consciously and unconsciously.
Multiculturalism
acknowledges the multiple identities, cultures, contributions and
experiences that have co-created human societies. Embracing
multiculturalism with accountability, I believe like wild fire, will
spark fundamental changes in individuals and small groups practicing
acts of humanity. These changes will create oppurtunities organically
and gradually within human societies”
